In discovering the world of blogging I've come across so many blogs of interest to me. I'm amazed by the creativity, design, and hardwork that goes into making them a success. Blogging daily may appear to be a simple task, but I'm learning that some bloggers spend a whole day or weekend prepping and taking photos for what will turn into 5-6 posts. Blogging becomes a part of one's lifestyle and for so many an actual profession allowing them an opportunity to make some money. So when you see individuals posting personal blogs and you think to yourself, "who has time for that?" or "who would be so interested in my outfits or daily routine or favorite recipes?" (Trust me....these questions have gone through my head!) well it's definitely a lot more than just sitting with a cup of coffee typing a simple message or thought. I decided to update my facebook status yesterday to inquire from friends who has a personal blog and do they maintain it. I got less than 30 responses and of the 30 only 3 people had blogs and of those 3 bloggers they all regretfully admitted that they had slacked on posting and hadn't been active in keeping them current.

ideas and tips to get you started!
Perhaps bloggers get a "bloggers block" (aka writers block) and just need to take a break from the world of blogging to find their focus again. Whatever the case may be whether novice to blogging, taking a backseat, or unsure of which direction to head in next....I think all it takes is a little inspiration and motivation from others to get back on the blogging scene!
Ashley, I think some people are natural bloggers and others aren't. It seems to be a combination of need to communicate, comfort with the medium, and having something worth saying. Oh, and writing style/voice/tone matters a lot as well. These all are components of cultivating and maintaining and audience.
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those "off the top of my head" bloggers, but I do know others who carefully plot out posts. I would never manage to find the time if I did that. Fortunately, the medium is tolerant of quickly composed posts!
